My PC Keeps Power Cycling After Shutdown – What Should I Do?

I recently encountered an issue where my computer starts power cycling right after I shut it down. This happened after I was gaming, and I noticed a brief power surge around an hour before I decided to shut the PC off. Here's what I've tried so far:

1. Cleared the CMOS.
2. Disconnected the front panel connector, but it still powers on when I flip the PSU switch.
3. Used a PSU tester to check the voltages, and they seemed fine (though I couldn't test the 12-pin connection).

I'm starting to think that the motherboard might be failing, but I want to troubleshoot a bit more before I get a replacement. Any advice on what else I can check?

First off, make sure your PC is plugged into a reliable power source. Sometimes power strips or surge protectors can cause issues like this. After that, try reseating the RAM. Use one stick in the slot closest to the CPU and work your way through the slots. It might also help to unplug any unnecessary components, including the GPU, and use the motherboard's onboard display if possible. Don’t forget to listen for beep codes if you have the speaker connected, and check for any error LEDs on the motherboard. They can give you clues about what might be wrong!

Have you tried reseating the RAM sticks? It's worth removing all of them and testing one at a time in the slot nearest the CPU. If that doesn’t work, you might want to unplug any unnecessary PCI cards. If the computer powers off right after starting, it may not be providing enough power to boot properly, or the power supply might be having issues.

I did take a look at the RAM, but it didn’t seem to help. Unfortunately, I can’t get a display output since the system turns off so quickly. It’s quite frustrating!
