Issues with Low Usage on RX 7900 XTX While Gaming

Hey everyone, I'm having an issue with my AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX ASRock Phantom Gaming graphics card. My setup has an i7 12700KF processor, 32GB of DDR4 RAM, and an 850W power supply. The weird thing is that my graphics card doesn't go beyond 70% usage while gaming, regardless of the game or settings. Interestingly, it hits 100% usage in the settings, but once I start playing, it drops dramatically. I'm currently testing at 1080p resolution, and this happens across all games. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to resolve this?

I noticed something similar with my setup, and it turned out my power settings were set to 'power saver.' Try checking your power plan settings in Windows and make sure it's set to 'high performance.' It might help your GPU stay more engaged during gameplay!

It sounds like your CPU might be bottlenecking your GPU performance. The RX 7900 XTX is designed for higher resolutions like 1440p or 4K, so it could be overkill for 1080p. That said, it shouldn’t cap your usage like that when in a game—what game were you testing? Some titles are much more demanding on the CPU than others.
