Hey everyone! I just got my new PC and I'm excited to install Linux since I'm done with Windows. I mainly use my computer for gaming and coding, and I have a bit of experience navigating through Windows OS. I'm looking for a beginner-friendly Linux distribution to start my journey. My setup includes an AMD Radeon 9070XT and a Ryzen 7800X3D. What do you guys recommend?

For newcomers, I’d suggest checking out Linux Mint, Ubuntu, Fedora, Manjaro, or Pop!_OS. They’re all pretty beginner-friendly and should suit your needs for gaming and coding.

Check out Fedora, Manjaro, and even Cachy or Debian. Some folks find Gentoo to be the easiest, even though it comes with a learning curve.

I recommend Linux Mint with the Cinnamon desktop or Bazzite, which is tailored specifically for gamers. They offer a great experience right out of the box.

I agree with those options! Manjaro and Fedora usually have the latest software updates, but there's a small chance something might break. It's generally fixable if you’re willing to learn. Linux Mint and Ubuntu-based options are more stable and slower to release new software, but that usually means fewer hiccups. Ubuntu has some mixed opinions due to the company behind it, but it's still a solid base for many distributions.

I run a standard Ubuntu desktop myself; it's very stable and user-friendly, plus it works well for gaming.
