I've been using an old SpectrePro G22SL LED IPS monitor that I got from a friend. It's around 6 years old and I've had it for about 6 months now. Lately, I've been noticing some screen flickering during boot-up, and today it took longer than usual to turn on. I also see a faint white square on the screen. I've made sure my drivers are updated, the cables seem fine, and the power connection is solid. Is my monitor just old and failing?

Before concluding it's dying, have you tried using it with a different computer or device? Sometimes the issue could be with the GPU rather than the monitor itself. If it flickers there too, then it's probably the monitor.
It sounds like your monitor is on its last legs. Since you've tried different cables and sources, it's likely that the age of the monitor is the main issue. Those flickering signs and the faded square usually hint at hardware failure. It might be time to start looking for a replacement.
