I've been running into a problem where multiple workstations show an error when launching Adobe Reader, saying, "Acrobat failed to load its Core DLL." This started happening after Adobe released update 25.001.20982 and my system updated everyone overnight. I tried reinstalling and repairing the software, but nothing worked. I'm curious if anyone else is experiencing this issue and if there are any solutions out there. I want to get rid of Reader, but we still need it for certain documents from LiveCycle Designer that only work properly with Adobe. It seems like rolling back is our only option from what I've seen so far.

We had the same Core DLL error after the latest update too. What worked for us was uninstalling Reader, rebooting the machine, then installing the previous version. After blocking that problematic update in our system, Reader launched without issues again. It definitely seems like there’s something wrong with that Adobe build. By the way, we’re still using Reader because of LiveCycle as well.
I ran into the same issue here as well!
I faced the same problem! I managed to fix it by uninstalling version 25.001.209.82 and then reinstalling version 25.001.209.37. That did the trick for me.
Deploying the VCRedist v14 x86 package resolved it for us, just so you know!
Yeah, just rolling back to an earlier version has been the only solution for most of us.
