Is Upgrading My Old Acer Prebuilt Worth It?

I've got an old Acer office PC that has been sitting unused for about a year, and I'm thinking of giving it some new life with a few upgrades. Currently, my setup includes an OEM motherboard (Veriton M4610G), an Intel Pentium G620 CPU running at 2.60GHz, 10GB of RAM (upgraded from 6GB by adding a 4GB stick from another old PC), a 128GB SSD, and a 300W OEM PSU. Right now, I'm using the motherboard's VGA output since there's no dedicated GPU, and the case is pretty small with a bulky cooling tube for the CPU.

I'm looking to play games like Red Dead Redemption and Detroit: Become Human, so I'm considering two main upgrades: getting an Intel Core i7-3770 CPU and a GTX 1050 Ti mini GPU (to fit in the case). What do you think? Will my existing PSU be sufficient for these upgrades, or do I need anything else?

Honestly, I think dumping money into this setup might not be the best move. For a good comparison, a Ryzen 3 4100 can be found for around £47, and it actually outperforms the i7-3770 by a significant margin. It could be worth considering just getting a used system instead if you want better performance for gaming. Just my two cents!

That’s a fair point, but I want to make the most of what I already have without going for a full rebuild. I know it’s not the best solution long-term, but it’d be nice to squeeze some use out of this old system.
