I'm still stuck using an HDD for my Windows setup in 2025 and I've finally decided to upgrade just to an SSD. My plan was to do a full system upgrade and switch to Windows 11, but with the current RAM prices, that's on hold. Instead, I want to find a reliable 1TB SSD that'll serve as both my system drive and for gaming. I've got an ASRock Z370 Pro4 motherboard that supports PCIe Gen3, but if possible, I'd like something a bit more future-proof compatible with Gen4 or Gen5 when I eventually upgrade my system. My budget is around 100€, but I can go a bit over if needed. Any recommendations would be super helpful!

Check out the MSI Spatium M480 Pro 1TB. It's a PCIe 4.0 drive, so it offers good future-proofing options, but watch out for potential performance issues linked to the controller. That said, a recent firmware update should help address those concerns.
Your motherboard supports PCIe Gen3 NVMe SSDs. A few great options include the Samsung 970 EVO Plus, ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro, Corsair MP510, and the slightly older Samsung 970 PRO (which uses TLC technology). These are well-regarded and should work well for both your system and gaming needs.
I looked for those recommendations but I can only find the Corsair, and it's only in a 256GB version right now. Such a bummer!

That drive looks cool! Just remember to check for the latest firmware updates before buying.
