Hey everyone! I'm trying to decide between the 9900X and the 9800X3D for my setup, which will be paired with an RX 9070 XT. My main focus is gaming, specifically Dota 2, but I also do some development work. I'm concerned about whether the 9800X3D might be bottlenecked by the GPU. I'd recommend going with the 9800X3D. It's touted as one of the best CPUs for gaming, which fits your primary use case. Plus, it has 8 cores, which should be more than sufficient for your development tasks.
That's a good point, but I had a situation once where we needed a machine for backtesting trading bots, and we found even 12 cores were struggling with the workload. I don't know if I'll face that again, hence my confusion.
