What should I do if my PSU doesn’t have enough 6+2 cables for my GPU?

I'm putting together my PC and realized that my 9070 XT requires three 6+2 PCIe power cables, but my PSU, the TR KG850, only comes with two. Should I return the PSU, or is there a workaround?

Check if your cables have a single 8-pin connector or if they come with a pigtail. If it’s the latter, you can use the pigtail from your second cable to connect to the third GPU power port. That setup should work without any issues!

The GPU actually requires three plugs, each with 8 pins. I have two 4+4 connectors for the CPU, and I need those two 6+2 for my GPU, plus I have some miscellaneous cables lying around that I can't plug anywhere.

Unless you're planning on heavy overclocking, two cables should probably be enough for regular gameplay. Just give it a try and see if it can handle running games at max settings without any hiccups!

I don’t intend to overclock; my plan was to undervolt instead. But considering what I have, I’m doubtful if that’ll even work.

I'm fairly certain it won't power on properly if you only connect two cables.
