I've been experiencing some serious wifi issues for the past couple of months. Even though my connection is supposed to be excellent at 6GHz, I'm dealing with a lot of lag; apps like Discord freeze every 5-10 seconds, and my ping in games is consistently over 250. I rely on wireless wifi since my parents won't let me run an ethernet cable to the router, but I haven't had problems like this in the five years I've been using it. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

First off, I hear you! Have you checked if your router has been moved or if there’s anything new between your PC and the router? Sometimes, simple changes can mess things up. Also, don't forget to restart your router—it can work wonders! And is the slow speed happening on other devices too?
Have you thought about using a powerline adapter? It’s a great way to connect your PC with an ethernet cable without dragging it through the house. Might be worth considering!
If you have access to a 5GHz network, give that a shot to see if it improves things. Also, check if other devices are hogging the bandwidth—like someone streaming movies or downloading files. Running a speed test could help figure out what's really going on with your speeds!
Have you recently started using any appliances like a space heater? I noticed my wireless mouse was cutting out when mine kicked in, and it’s a noisy old thing. Even other devices like hair dryers or refrigerators can interfere with the signal. Just something to consider!
