I'm debating whether to upgrade my processor (currently an i5 2500) or my RAM (which is 8GB). I'm aware that my current setup is quite outdated, but with a tight budget, I'm trying to figure out which upgrade would be more beneficial for performance. Any thoughts?

Honestly, you're looking at an old platform, and it's likely that you'll need to consider upgrading both. Trying to upgrade just one part might not give you the performance boost you're looking for.
With such an old setup, you really can’t just upgrade the CPU or RAM without thinking about the motherboard too. To run Windows 11, a new motherboard is pretty much a must, which means when you upgrade, you'll be getting a new CPU and memory kit at the same time anyways. It's all or nothing, really.

I get that, but if money is tight, would you suggest tackling one upgrade at a time instead?
