I just got all my PC parts (except for the GPU), and right now I'm keeping them on the carpet in my room since my shelves are pretty much full. They're still in their original packaging. I'm wondering if there's any risk of static from this setup?

It's totally fine to keep your parts on the carpet. Unless you’re moving them a lot, there shouldn’t be any static issues. I’ve assembled machines on carpet and had no problems! Just remember to use good practices when you finally put it all together.
As long as your parts are still in their boxes, you should be fine storing them on the carpet. Just make sure not to shuffle them around too much. I’ve built PCs right on carpet before with no issues at all! Just be careful when you're handling the components and everything should go smoothly.
Can I safely build my PC on a table that sits on a rug, or should I avoid that? Just want to make sure I won't run into any problems!

What do you mean by 'using your head'? Is there something specific I should be careful about?
