Is My PC Safe if the Breaker Trips While the PSU is Off?

I'm currently expanding my house and had a new breaker box installed. However, the circuit for the room where my PC is located keeps tripping. I haven't used that circuit since construction began, and my power supply has been switched off for a few months but remains plugged into the wall socket. I'm worried about potential damage to my PC since the breaker has tripped around three times now, and I've had to reset it each time. For reference, I'm using an EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G+, 80 Plus Gold 750W power supply. I'd appreciate any insights on whether this situation could harm my PC.

I'd personally avoid leaving electronics plugged into unprotected outlets. You never know how the electrical network behaves or what the weather's like, and even protective components like surge protectors can degrade over time. Better to be safe than sorry!

Nope, you should be fine. Just don’t stress too much about it right now—test it later when you can!

Consider plugging your PC into a surge protector. People have shared stories about their electronics getting fried when plugged directly into wall sockets—it's worth the extra safety!

It shouldn't harm your PC if the PSU is off, but why not just unplug it entirely? It would give you peace of mind, especially since the room is just storage for now.

You’re right! It slipped my mind to unplug it since I'm not using it. I just did that after it tripped again this morning.
