I'm currently using a 9700K CPU with a 2080 Ti GPU, and I'm trying to figure out if I would see a performance boost in FPS games at 1440p by upgrading to a 14600KF. I play competitive games at low settings and aim to consistently hit 240 fps. My main concern is whether my CPU or GPU is bottlenecking my performance at this resolution.

While the 14600KF would offer a good upgrade, you might want to consider the AMD X3D CPUs instead. Also, keep in mind that the LGA1700 socket won't allow for further upgrades down the line, so that's something to think about if you're planning for the future.
Your current setup seems balanced. Upgrading to a 14600KF would be a nice boost, but your 2080 Ti might still hold you back. If you're considering an upgrade, you could focus on the GPU instead, as moving to a stronger GPU could be bottlenecked by your current CPU.
Before you decide, check your GPU utilization in games. If your GPU is running close to 100%, upgrading the CPU won't really help your performance.
Dumping a lot of cash into a new CPU might not be worth it; that 2080 Ti can handle games well, especially if you’re looking to have smooth gameplay. Keep in mind that AMD offers some solid options too.
