Is the RTX 3060 a Good Choice for My Setup?

I'm considering buying a new GPU before prices go up. The most affordable option I found is the Inno3D RTX 3060 Twin X2 LHR with 12GB of memory, priced around 23,000 Indian Rupees. I'll be using it with a Ryzen 5 5600, 16GB DDR4 RAM, and a 1080p 180Hz monitor. I don't aim to play games on ultra settings. Should I stick with the 3060 for now or should I stretch my budget for a 4060 or 5060 instead? Also, how many years can I expect driver support for the 3060?

The 3060 should serve you fine for the next few years if you're not focused on AAA gaming. In terms of driver support, you can probably count on it staying relevant for at least 4 more years. Just make sure you’re okay with adjusting settings for newer titles.

I’m not a hardcore gamer, but I'm looking into video editing with Adobe Premiere. Will the 3060 be good for that?

The RTX 3060 is a solid choice, but remember it's starting to show its age as a 5-year-old card. If you can, consider saving up for something like the 4060 or 5060, as they could provide better longevity. But if your budget is tight, the 3060 should still perform well for 1080p gaming on lower settings, especially for non-AAA titles.

I don’t have the budget for the 4060 or 5060 right now. Is it really worth saving up for those models?

I've been using a 3060 TI and plan to stick with it for my new Ryzen build. For general use and even some gaming, it should be fine. Plus, NVIDIA keeps supporting their cards for a long time, so you won't be left hanging too soon.

That’s good to know! I saw the 3060 priced pretty high in my area, so I hope it’s worth it.
