How Do I Replace My Failing Hard Drive?

I'm trying to troubleshoot an old PC I've started using again, and I think the hard drive is failing. It often crashes and blue screens, plus it struggles with games that should run smoothly. I've ruled out issues with the GPU, CPU, and RAM. I'm currently using an ADATA SU630 with 447 GB capacity. I need a replacement that can handle gaming without lag, and I'm looking for something under $1,000. Any recommendations for a reliable hard drive or SSD would be appreciated since I'm not very tech-savvy. Thanks!

Totally check if your motherboard has M.2 slots because that will give you a performance boost! I'm guessing the ADATA is indeed causing the issues, especially if it's running at 100% usage even when you're not doing much. And hey, if you're considering new parts for the whole PC, that might be worth it in the long run!

If your ADATA SU630 is the one crashing, you might want to look into M.2 NVMe SSDs if your motherboard supports them. These drives are significantly faster compared to SATA drives. A 500GB M.2 NVMe could be a great upgrade for performance. If you're sticking with a SATA drive, the Samsung 870 EVO is a solid choice and easy to install.
