Help Needed with First PC Build – BIOS and GPU Issues

I just completed my first PC build and everything seems to power on—the fans are spinning, the lights are on, and the motherboard has a green LED. However, I'm having trouble getting to the BIOS screen; I don't see the MSI logo on my monitor. I've tried connecting using both DisplayPort and HDMI cables from the GPU to the monitor, but the GPU lights up red.

I'm using a 1 to 3 NVIDIA adapter and only have two PCIe cables connected since I'm out of slots. I made sure to connect the supplemental PCIe power to the motherboard, but I'm uncertain about my GPU's power setup. Can I use the 12v-2x6 cable that came with my power supply to power the GPU? The PSU cable only has 2 of the 4 smaller pins, while the NVIDIA adapter has 4 smaller pins.

I want to avoid damaging any components, so any advice would be greatly appreciated! My build includes an MPG X870E Carbon WiFi motherboard, a Ryzen 9 9800X3D CPU, and an ASUS TUF RTX 5070 Ti GPU, powered by a Corsair RM850x PSU.

You should definitely use the 12v2x6 cable that came with your PSU to power the GPU. It’s specifically designed for that purpose, and it should help ensure everything runs smoothly. Just make sure that you're plugging it into the right ports on both the PSU and GPU.

Okay, thank you! I’ll give that a try and see if it helps.
