I have an iPhone 12 mini, and I went for a walk in freezing temperatures. When I got home, everything seemed fine at first, but the next morning, my phone's screen glitched to green and then shut off. I can get the display to come back by warming the top of the phone, but it has to be out of its case. I'm not sure what to do next and would prefer to avoid taking it to a shop unless absolutely necessary.

It looks like your phone is technically on, but the screen is malfunctioning. If it works above 80°F, it's likely a temporary glitch rather than a total failure. Just make sure to keep it warm for now!
It sounds like you might need to get the battery replaced. I just had mine done for my iPhone 12 Pro Max at the Apple Store, and it made a huge difference!
Condensation could be the issue here. Depending on how cold it gets where you are, condensation can form inside the phone. Try warming it up outside of its case to see if that helps. A hairdryer on a low setting can gently heat it, but be careful not to roast it! Just warm it up enough to see if that brings it back to life.

Cold for me is anything below 32°F. If I hold it in my hand long enough, it works until it cools off again. Thanks for the tip!
