How Can I Allow a Specific AI Note Taker in MS Teams Without Losing Control?

I'm facing a challenge with Microsoft Teams regarding AI note takers. I manage a tenant where I want to ensure that no external AI note takers are permitted. To help with this, I've implemented captcha protections and blocked popular AI tools like Fathom. However, I have a unique situation: the owner of my organization, who is an external entity, insists on using his preferred AI note taker when joining meetings. He's only willing to enter as a guest in my tenant. I'm looking for a way to allow this specific note taker to join without triggering the captcha and without changing my tenant's security settings. Is there a way to whitelist this app or domain for seamless access?

Have you considered giving him a Teams premium license? This way, he could use the built-in note-taking features without any issues. Check out Microsoft's page on it for more details!

I thought about that, but it wouldn't feed into his AI tool that he insists on using. I've already tried that route.

You could sanction that note-taking AI and restrict its permissions to just that guest user’s account. It might let you maintain control while giving him access. Do you know how to set that up?

That sounds promising! But I’m unsure how to implement it. Do you have any resources or knowledge base articles that could help? I'm worried the note taker will come in as a third party and not as an official guest.

One option could be to create a local account in your tenant set for auto-join. It might help get the note taker in, but it would take some extra management. Just a heads up, you'd likely need to handle permissions for that app within your tenant too.

I’ve considered this but getting the app synced into his AI tool would be tricky. Plus, it means having access to his account and managing 2FA, which complicates things.
