I've noticed that my dad's Scepter TV has been behaving strangely. I usually watch it in the living room while my room isn't set up yet, and lately, I've been falling asleep with it on. It started flickering between the regular screen and a blue screen when I turn the volume down past 35. Now, it's barely turning on at all. The TV is pretty old, we've had it since I was about 16, and the area around it is very dusty. Could this be related to dust, or is it just a sign that the TV is giving out? Any insights would be appreciated!

Honestly, Scepter TVs are known for being on the cheaper side and can have reliability issues. Don't stress too much about falling asleep with it on; that’s probably not the cause of its failure—these TVs just sometimes fail out of nowhere.
If you can, look for any signs of power issues—sometimes it's a simple fix. Just be aware that cheaper models might eventually give you trouble as they age. Your best bet might be finding a repair shop specializing in TVs if it really comes down to it.
Ugh, I really can't afford repairs right now. Is it possible to fix it myself?
Is there a way to fix it though? My dad’s already not happy, and I’d really like to avoid making it worse.
