I'm looking to upgrade my CPU but I currently have the best one that fits my existing motherboard. This means I need a new CPU and a new motherboard. My main question is whether I should stick with the AM4 platform and keep using my current RAM, or should I go for the AM5 platform and buy new RAM as well?

If your RAM is 3200MHz or higher and you're working with a tight budget, sticking with AM4 might be a smart move due to the high costs associated with new RAM. You could look at getting a CPU like the 5600X or 5700X. Just something to consider—if you already have a decent CPU, it might not be worth the upgrade right now since RAM prices could drop soon.
Before I can suggest anything specific, I need more details about what RAM you have (like DDR4 type and speed) and which CPU you're currently using.
Check out the ASRock H610M COMBO motherboard. It supports AM5 CPUs but also works with both DDR4 and DDR5 memory. This way, you could reuse your DDR4 until the prices of DDR5 go down.
Honestly, I don’t see much reason to invest in AM4 at this point. The AM4 socket has been around for almost a decade, so jumping to AM5 seems like a better long-term investment.
