I'm wondering if upgrading from my Intel i7-8700 to either a Ryzen 5 5600XT or Ryzen 5 5800XT would be a worthwhile move. I've been considering switching to AM5, but it seems that's on hold indefinitely. I've maxed out my i7 in Battlefield 6 and can feel my system starting to bottleneck in other games as well. Do the Ryzen CPUs really offer a notable performance boost, or should I look into Intel's 13th or 14th generation instead? Thanks for any insights!

Upgrading to a Ryzen is definitely a solid choice! The Ryzen 5 5800XT would be a great upgrade from your i7-8700. If you're considering the latest Intel 14th generation, it might be slightly stronger, but those Ryzen chips have proven themselves well. Just keep an eye out for DDR5 prices; they might surprise you. Also, I've seen some good deals on parts recently!
I made the jump from a 9600k to a Ryzen 5800X and it’s been fantastic! My CPU usage in games like Forza 5 dropped significantly; I rarely see it hit 100% now. You could snag a second-hand CPU and motherboard for about €140, which is a pretty good deal!
Awesome! It’s nice to hear there’s a performance gain. In Forza, I'm also hitting 100% on my current setup, so I'm leaning towards the Ryzen 7 now.

Prices around here are hitting $300 for 32GB, which sucks! I was thinking about a Ryzen 7600 build but the RAM prices are making me rethink. I might just stick with AM4 since there are sales everywhere.
