I shut down my computer after waiting for six hours while it was trying to repair disk errors, which said it could take over an hour to finish. Now, when I restart, I'm caught in a loop of 'preparing automatic repair.' I've tried booting from the USB installation media, but the screen goes black after showing the motherboard logo. Here are my specs: NVIDIA 3070ti, AMD Ryzen 7 5800x, and MSI MAG B550 WIFI motherboard. Can someone assist me?

First, it might help to remove all drives, including both your M.2 and SATA ones. Then, check your BIOS settings and make sure the boot type matches the OS you're trying to install—like UEFI for Windows 11 if you used the Microsoft media creation tool. After adjusting that, see if you can get to the screen where you select the installation location for Windows.

So I'm just supposed to take out the M.2 and then boot from the USB again?
