I'm planning to build a Christmas gift PC for my sister, but I have no idea where to start. Here's what I have in mind for the setup:
- Intel Core i7 14700F processor
- ASUS B760M AYW IFI DDR5 LGA 1700mATX motherboard
- Western Digital SN3000 PCIe 4.0 SSD
- Adata DDR5 32GB RAM
- Mid-Range GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Gaming X Trio GPU
- Thermalright Peerless Assassin PA12 twin tower CPU cooler
- Mid-Tower gaming case
- MSI MAG 750W 80 Plus Gold power supply
I want to make sure this setup can handle her needs, like playing games like City Skyline 2 and Hogwarts Legacy at high FPS, as well as processing large data files for work, such as an Excel sheet with nearly 5000 rows. She also uses two monitors. Is this configuration suitable for her? I'd really appreciate any advice, thanks!

Your current setup looks good for her tasks, but definitely think about that GPU upgrade for gaming!
If you can, consider upgrading the GPU to either a 3080 or a 3070 Ti. That should give her a solid performance boost for games like Hogwarts Legacy at high FPS.
For beginners, check out pcpartpicker.com. It’s a great resource for compatibility and ideas!

What about the 4070 Ti? Wouldn’t that be an even better choice?
