I'm looking for advice on which GPU to choose for 1440p gaming at 60+ fps. I have a few options:
- 7800 XT for $590 plus tax
- 5070 for $600, tax included
- RX 9070 for $680 plus tax
- RX 9070 XT for $800 plus tax
- 5070 TI for $850 plus tax
I believe all these options are decent for my gaming needs today, but I wonder if they will hold up in about three years. Should I just go for the cheapest one or spend a bit more for potentially better performance and longer usability? All of these are within my budget, and I'm curious about their value.

I’d recommend either the 9070 XT or the 5070 TI. If you're up for it, you could flash the BIOS on the 9070 non-XT and overclock it to match the XT’s performance. Just so you know, I wouldn't opt for the 5070 since it has only 12GB of VRAM and the 7800 XT is lacking in FSR4 support.
I'd probably stick with the 5070. Spending 20% more for the 9070 doesn't seem worth it, in my opinion.
I grabbed a 7900 XT for $600, so I’d suggest checking its current price. You might find a good deal.
Going with the 5070 seems like the smartest choice. The other options are just priced too high compared to it. You’ll still get good performance without breaking the bank.
Pretty much every game can have its FSR upgraded to 4. You just need to drop some files into the game folder. This has been possible since FSR 2 came out. Just a heads up, though—some games still need that upgrade, and modders have made it happen. You can do similar stuff with DLSS too.
