I'm getting some weird alerts from my child protection software that my PC is trying to connect to doh.xfinity.com. This has been happening frequently for the past few days—168 times to be exact! The strange part is, there's been no one using the computer most times when these alerts come up, and I can't find any apps that could be causing this connection attempt. I don't even have a browser open most of the time. What could be triggering this, and how do I stop it?

doh.xfinity.com stands for DNS over HTTPS, which is part of a system called "Encrypted DNS." This means your computer is likely making DNS requests for various operations, even when no one is actively using it. Devices regularly perform DNS checks for updates or background tasks, so it’s not too surprising to see those alerts.

So, is this just for things like Google searches, or is it for all kinds of websites?
