I'm in the process of building a new PC and I need some advice on graphics cards. I'm considering two options: the AMD RX 9060 XT and the NVIDIA RTX 5060 Ti. Both cards have 16 GB of memory and are priced similarly, but I've noticed that the 2 Fan version of the AMD card is significantly cheaper than the 3 Fan version. I'm looking at options from Gigabyte, Asus Prime, and ASRock for the RX 9060 XT and Zotac, Asus Dual, and MSI for the RTX 5060 Ti. Should I make the purchase now or wait a bit longer? Also, which company is known for better customer support? Just as a note, all these cards are overclocked by the seller. There's about a $200 difference between the 2 Fan and 3 Fan versions of the RX 9060 XT. The 3 Fan versions of the RX 9060 XT and RTX 5060 Ti cost about $100 to $150 more, with the 5060 Ti being the pricier option. I really appreciate any insights you might have! My total budget is between $1500 and $2000.

I recently faced a similar choice and opted for the RX 9060 XT because of the lower price. However, I’ve encountered some frustrating driver issues from day one. AMD's upscaling and frame generation do not perform as well, and the ray tracing capabilities aren’t up to scratch compared to NVIDIA. If I could rewind, I'd definitely spend an extra $100-150 for the NVIDIA card.
If you're considering Linux, AMD's support tends to be a bit better in that environment. For me, avoiding NVIDIA's flashy marketing led me to pick the 9060 XT without hesitation.
I'm not a Linux user, and I'm not really into gaming either. I'm more focused on building a future-proof PC that can handle tasks for the next five years, even if not on max settings.

I love hearing these experiences! It really helps me save when buying gaming gear 🙂
