Why can’t I connect my laptop to the hospital WiFi when there’s an access point nearby?

I'm staying in a hospital ward with a Juniper Mist AP45 access point right above my bed, but my laptop can't connect to the network. My iPhone can connect, although the signal is weak. There are two networks available: a guest WiFi that doesn't require a password and a residential network for which I have the password. Despite these options showing up on my laptop, I can't connect to either of them. I'm unsure what other information might help, but I would greatly appreciate any advice!

It might be worth reaching out to the hospital's IT department. There could be a security setting or compatibility issue with your laptop's WiFi card.

Good call! I don't know why I thought asking here was better than just contacting IT directly. It's a VA hospital—do you think they'll have someone available today?
