Why am I seeing ‘This content is blocked by your IT admin’ on my personal computer?

I'm getting this annoying pop-up saying 'This content is blocked by your IT admin' when I try to open some apps like Steam, Valorant, and Viber. This is a personal computer, and I can't figure out where this message is coming from. It was working fine just two days ago, and I've already updated to the latest version of Windows 11. I also tried running 'sfc scannow' and 'check and restorehealth', but nothing helped. I'm worried about what's going on with my system and really need advice on why this is happening and how to fix it. By the way, I see options like OK, Unblock, and Feedback on the notification. I checked the event viewer, and it mentions that Microsoft Defender Exploit Guard is blocking a network connection. I only have one account on this computer, and I do have an Outlook for work, but it's really limited. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

To address the Microsoft Defender Exploit Guard blocking content, you might want to try turning it off temporarily to see if that resolves the pop-up. Just remember, doing so might expose your system to risks, so it’s a good idea to be cautious. If you do decide to try this, definitely keep your security software running.

Those error messages usually point to some underlying policy settings that your computer thinks are active. It's strange since you mentioned it's a personal PC. If you’re having the issue at home and not at work, it likely isn’t related to your workplace IT. Could you have clicked something or installed a program that altered your local settings? I'd suggest checking for any recent downloads.

It sounds like your system is acting like it has some Group Policy settings enabled. This can happen for various reasons, maybe due to Windows optimization utilities that you've run. Have you installed any programs that might tweak these settings? It could also be a sign of malware or a corrupted user profile. As a quick fix test, try creating a new user account and see if you face the same issues there.
