Why are my CPU temperatures so high on my new PC build?

I've built a new PC and I'm facing issues with high CPU temperatures. I have an AMD 9800X3D CPU and I'm using a Deepcool LT720 AIO cooler. I've tried several troubleshooting steps including updating the BIOS, reapplying thermal paste three times, and adjusting fan speeds in the BIOS. I've checked to ensure everything is connected properly, but I'm still seeing temperatures between 60-70°C at idle and up to 80-90°C during multiplayer gaming. I'm not sure if this is related to Windows 10 or something else. Any advice would be appreciated!

It’s not unusual for some CPUs to run hot, but those temps sound high. Have you considered monitoring the CPU usage during gaming? It could be throttling if it’s reaching its limits.

Yeah, I’ll keep an eye on that during my next gaming session. Thanks for the suggestion!

It sounds like you've already done a lot of troubleshooting! Have you checked if the AIO cooler is properly seated on the CPU? Sometimes a loose cooler can cause high temps. Also, make sure your case has good airflow—if there isn't enough fresh air coming in, it can lead to overheating.

Good point! Also, ensure that the fans on the AIO are spinning correctly and are set to the right speeds in the BIOS.

Thanks for the tip! I’ll check if it’s mounted correctly and see about the airflow.
