Is it okay to mix two 16GB RAM kits to total 32GB?

I found a cheaper option for RAM that consists of two 16GB kits (2x8GB) instead of purchasing a single 32GB kit (2x16GB). My question is whether these two identical 16GB kits will work together without issues. It's DDR4 RAM from Corsair. Will they function properly in my system?

Just a heads up, sometimes it doesn't guarantee a boot. I had a tough time getting my PC to post when I tried a similar setup before. Stick to the same kit if you can!

Absolutely, you can do this! Just make sure your PC supports DDR4, since that's the essential part. Just double-check your motherboard specs to avoid any surprises.

I'm actually building a new system with this setup.

For sure! I'm just trying to dodge those high DDR5 prices!

Yeah, it should work as long as both kits are the same type. There's always a little risk when mixing RAM, but if they're the exact same model, you're mostly fine.

Always consult your motherboard manual for RAM compatibility. It usually has a list of compatible kits and configurations that can save you a lot of hassle.

Mixing RAM is generally okay for DDR4, just watch out for XMP settings and timings. If you're using JEDEC timings, you should be fine, but you might need to tweak settings if it doesn't boot up right away. Asking yourself whether you need more RAM or faster speeds can help too! For heavy multitaskers, more RAM is often better, even at slower speeds.
