Why is my PC lagging after a forced shutdown?

I was experimenting with the field of view (FOV) setting in a game, but the screen went black and wouldn't come back. I had to force shut down my PC by holding the power button. Now, when I try to use it again, everything feels laggy and slow. I'm pretty new to this, so I really need some guidance to get things back to normal. What should I do?

First, try checking your display settings. Right-click on your desktop, go to display settings, and make sure your monitor's resolution is set correctly. Also, check the advanced display options to verify the refresh rate. Sometimes a forced shutdown can mess with these settings. You might also want to open the task manager by pressing Windows key + X, to see if anything is using up your resources.

I checked the display settings, but it doesn't let me change my refresh rate anymore, which is strange. Plus, I can't see my graphics card in the graphics settings either.
