Having Trouble Installing Linux on My Son’s PC

I'm trying to set up Linux on my son's computer, but I've hit a wall. The installation freezes right on the splash screen every time. When I attempt to use the safe mode install for Ubuntu, it actually starts but then fails to boot, leaving me with just a black screen. I've used three different types of storage devices – an NVMe, an SSD, and an HDD – but none of them seem to work. I've also tried five different USB sticks with the same result. Here's a quick rundown of the PC specs: Radeon 5500xt, AMD 7600xt, 16GB G.Skill RAM, and an Asus B650E motherboard. What could be going wrong? Any suggestions?

Also, have you checked to ensure that your BIOS is up to date? An outdated BIOS can lead to weird issues like these when trying to install new operating systems. It might be worth a look.

Hey, one thing to check is if you have fast boot enabled in the BIOS. If it’s on, try switching it off and see if that helps. It can sometimes cause issues during installation and boot-up.

It was enabled! I can't believe that might be the cause. I'll give it a shot and see if it works.

Let us know if that fixes it! Sometimes little settings in the BIOS can cause big headaches.
