Hey everyone! I upgraded my gaming PC to AM5 earlier this year and now I have some leftover components that I'd like to turn into a personal gaming server. I'm aiming to set it up for some crafting and survival games like Valheim, 7 Days to Die, and Project Zomboid. Here's what I've got:
- Ryzen AM4 5700X 8-core CPU
- 32GB (4x8GB) G.Skill Trident 3600MHz DDR4 RAM
- ROG Strix B550-F WiFi motherboard
I can also get an Intel A-750 GPU for $125, which seems like a solid deal. I checked PC Part Picker, and the total came to about $500, but I'd really like to keep it under $400 and go for the smallest form factor possible. Is this a realistic goal, or am I setting myself up for failure?

I'd recommend against going for a small form factor. It's better to use a mid-size case; that way, you can choose the best budget parts without cramping everything in. The GPU you've found is a steal! I'd suggest focusing on finding a good power supply, case, and NVMe drive, which could be around $275 total. That could help you stay on budget!
I think the extra costs came from the micro ATX mobo, 1TB NVMe, GPU, and PSU that pushed it over $400. Do you have any recommendations for small mid-size cases?
