Best TV Streaming Devices for Seniors?

Hey everyone! I recently helped my Nana and uncle, who are 70 and 65, switch from cable TV to a Roku. They love the convenience of choosing what to watch and when, and it's a big savings since they only subscribe to Disney, Paramount, and Amazon Prime. However, the Roku interface hasn't been easy for my uncle to navigate, despite my efforts to teach him. They really enjoy classic shows like "I Dream of Jeannie," "Bewitched," and "Columbo," but locating these can be a hassle. I'm on the lookout for a more senior-friendly streaming device that offers a good selection of these types of shows. I've heard of an Android box that supposedly has a ton of content, but I found it to be quite complicated. I'm open to spending a reasonable amount to make their viewing experience stress-free. Any recommendations? Thanks a ton!

If they’re struggling with streaming, maybe consider getting an antenna. It's really straightforward—just place it near a window for better reception, and they can channel surf like in the old days. There are so many classic shows available over the airwaves, plus lots of those Medicare ads that seem to target older folks!

If you're considering something like an Apple TV, it might be a great fit! The remote has Siri, so they can just press a button and talk to it about what they want to watch. Plus, the TV app combines everything, so they won't have to jump around between different services. You can see what's next on their list, and it'll even show which service has the shows, which is super handy! Just a heads up, "I Dream of Jeannie" is available but can be pricey, around $20 per season.

You might want to check out Google TV as well. It has a voice feature on the remote, so they can easily search for a show or movie just by saying the name. It shows a summary and where they can watch, buy, or rent it. Plus, it has a 'Continue Watching' section, which is super convenient. They can also favorite specific channels, which is useful for finding age-appropriate content quickly.
