Why Are Power Supply Reviews So Confusing?

I'm in the market for a power supply unit (PSU) for my PC, but I'm really struggling to make a choice. I live in a developing country, so my options are somewhat limited, and the reviews just seem all over the place. For instance, the Lian Li Edge Gold is rated A tier on some PSU tier lists, but I found a review by LTT where it completely failed their tests. On the other hand, the Deepcool modular PSU is B tier, yet another review says it's not that great. I thought about getting a Corsair RM850E because I've heard good things about Corsair, but it's been clicking during use unless I get a newer version that I can't find here. It feels almost impossible to pick a decent PSU. I'm looking for something modular with a capacity between 750-850W and at least three PCIe cables for GPUs. Any suggestions?

I usually go for EVGA, BeQuiet, or Seasonic. Are any of these brands available where you are? If so, they’re definitely worth the investment.

EVGA isn't available, and the BeQuiet and Seasonic models are about 50-60% more expensive than Lian Li, Deepcool, or Corsair.

Honestly, just go for any gold or platinum rated power supply from a reliable brand with a long warranty. There's no need to stress over getting the absolute best; just ensure it has good reviews and you'll be fine.

Could you share the link to the LTT analysis? If you want, I can help you find a store that offers some options. It seems like you have plenty of decent choices, but maybe you're overthinking it a bit. Reviews can sometimes be overly detailed, and it might help to focus on the basics instead.

I recommend checking out the ADATA XPG CORE REACTOR II or the Montech Century II. They're solid options and should fit your needs pretty well.

I'm a huge fan of Corsair too! I’ve had good experiences with their PSUs before. Just a heads up, though—some users mentioned that the 2025 batch is experiencing clicking issues, which is something to consider based on your previous experiences.

I also wanted to go with Corsair again, but I keep hearing about the clicking issue you've mentioned. It's frustrating when you find a brand you trust and then run into problems.
