I'm struggling with weak mobile reception in a small room in my house. The signal is there but just too weak. I don't care about speed, but I need a stable connection because my router loses it frequently. Here are some details:
- It's a private APN, so I can't switch providers.
- I can't run any cables outside the room—absolutely none. So, I can't use an external antenna connected from outside.
- The router connects to an alarm system, and there's no Wi-Fi connection between them.
- I'm open to spending a reasonable amount for a solution.
I've tried using a Huawei HH515 router, and I'm wondering if better hardware or internal antennas could fix this issue. Any advice or other solutions would be greatly appreciated! I'm really hoping to avoid relocating everything if I can help it.

If you're really stuck, a landline could be your best bet! You could set it up with call forwarding from your mobile if that's an option. Since you're already using the internet connection as your primary, maybe just focus on enhancing what you have for backup instead. Better receivers or extra antennas might be worth a look.
First off, are you in a room with metal or concrete walls? Those materials can seriously mess with your signal. If that's the case, it might be hard to improve reception without some external help.
Yeah, I've heard the walls are aluminum and there are aluminum windows too. I can't really change that, unfortunately.
Have you thought about using Air Mesh devices? They create a daisy chain of routers to boost your signal throughout your space. You connect a main router that offers good reception and then distribute little devices to extend the signal. Just remember, this could require Wi-Fi, which you mentioned isn't an option right now.
No Wi-Fi sadly, but if I can't think of anything better, I might have to consider changing that.
Oh, and just to clarify, are we discussing LTE data? That could help tailor the solutions people suggest based on what type of signal you're working with.

That's already in place as the primary, not through call forwarding. I really need a backup solution here.
