I've got two computers: my main rig that I built about ten years ago, and a mini PC (specifically the Beelink SER5) that I mostly use as an arcade device. There's a strange problem occurring on the mini PC: some games either crash completely or experience frame rate drops to basically 1 for a few minutes. This issue doesn't happen on my main desktop. The specs don't seem that different between the two machines. Both run Windows 10, so I'm at a loss. Could there be a setting that's causing this? Am I missing something obvious?

First off, can you share the specs for both PCs? That might help pinpoint the issue. Sometimes, little differences like integrated graphics versus dedicated GPUs can make a big difference in performance.
Sounds frustrating! Check to see if the mini PC has any graphics settings that might be limiting performance, especially if it's using integrated graphics. Also, try updating the drivers for your graphics and check if there's overheating causing the performance drops.
Has the mini PC been set up with the same power settings as your main rig? Sometimes, power-saving modes can throttle performance unexpectedly. Make sure it’s set to performance mode.
You might want to monitor the temperature of your mini PC while gaming. If it’s overheating, that could explain the crashes and frame drops. A cooling pad or better airflow could really help!
