Is it time to upgrade my PC components?

I have a decent gaming setup with an i7-7700k processor, 32GB of 3600MHz DDR4 RAM, and a GTX 1070 graphics card. I'm planning to upgrade my GPU to a 1660 Super but I've heard mixed opinions on that. I'm also considering whether to switch to DDR5 RAM since prices seem manageable now, or if I should stick with my current 32GB of DDR4. Additionally, I'm contemplating making a switch to either an AM4 or AM5 platform. I have the funds for these upgrades, but I want to make sure my choices are smart in the long run and not just a temporary fix. Any advice would be appreciated!

A 1660 Super is actually slightly slower than the 1070 you currently have, so you might want to reconsider that upgrade. Switching to DDR5 would require a new motherboard and CPU as well. Considering your budget of around $1000, it may be better to invest in a strong CPU like the 7800X3D along with a compatible motherboard instead of focusing on RAM right now.

What do you mean the 1660 is slower? I thought it would be an upgrade over the 1070.
