I'm building a gaming PC for my boyfriend and would love some feedback on the parts I've chosen. The goal is to put together a solid gaming rig for a budget of $1500 to $2000. I've tried to select high-end components while also scoring some good deals, like the CPU, motherboard, and RAM, which were part of a bundle at Microcenter. Here's the current parts list:
1. **CPU:** AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D 4.2 GHz 8-Core Processor
2. **CPU Cooler:** Corsair iCUE LINK TITAN 360 RX RGB Liquid Cooler
3. **Motherboard:** Asus TUF GAMING X870E-PLUS WIFI7 ATX AM5 Motherboard
4. **Memory:** Corsair Vengeance RGB 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 RAM
5. **Storage:** Western Digital WD_Black SN850X 1 TB NVME SSD (still looking for a final choice)
6. **Case:** Corsair iCUE LINK 3500X RGB Mid Tower Case
7. **Power Supply:** Corsair RM850e (2025) 850 W Fully Modular PSU
The total so far is around $1295, but I need to add a GPU later. I have a spare 2070 Super I'll use to start him off. He won't be using this PC until next summer, so I'm not in a huge hurry for the final touches. Any thoughts on my choices or suggestions for the GPU or SSD?

Your build looks solid overall! I think all your choices are great. For the SSD, I recommend checking out Sabrent drives; they're known for their reliability. Good luck with the build!
You might want to consider the B650 version of the motherboard instead of the X870. The B650 can save you around $100 and still performs well for gaming. Everything else looks good though, especially if the aesthetic is important since that case is pretty cool!
I appreciate the input! I chose the X870 based on some good reviews, but saving $100 is tempting. The case is definitely one he liked, so I wanted to stick with that.
Overall, it’s a great build! I’d advise against waiting too long for the SSD and GPU since prices can fluctuate. Regarding the GPU, for your budget, look into the 9070 XT or the 5070 TI; you might find them for a decent price now before they rise. Also, consider if you want to trim costs by going for a slightly cheaper case.
Great points! I hadn't realized prices were climbing that much, I’ll speed up the search for those components. Thanks for the GPU tips!

Thanks for the recommendation! I’ll keep an eye on Sabrent prices.
