Is my R7 5800X good enough for the ASUS Prime Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB?

I'm currently using an R7 5800X with an ASUS Prime Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB, and I'm curious if my CPU might bottleneck the GPU's performance. I've read that the R7 5800XT works fine with it, but I couldn't find much info about the R7 5800X specifically. If it turns out there could be a bottleneck, what would be the best way to address it?

The R7 5800X, 5800XT, and even the 5700X are pretty similar in performance. A bottleneck can vary by game and how you're playing, but the 5800X should handle most games well with the RX 9060 XT, even at 1080p.

Thanks for clarifying! That gives me more confidence in my setup.

No, it won't bottleneck the 9060 XT. Your setup should work smoothly together without issues.

Bottlenecks can be nuanced. They depend on the specific game and the settings you're using. Sometimes you're GPU bound, sometimes CPU bound, and it varies with different scenarios. For instance, if you're playing a game with a lot of on-screen AI like Cities Skylines 2 at 1080p, the CPU may struggle a bit. But if you're running something graphically intensive like Cyberpunk at 4K, that's where the GPU shines. So the bottleneck really depends on what you’re playing.

Got it! I never really understood how bottlenecks worked before. Thanks for breaking it down!
