Hey everyone! I'm considering upgrading from an RTX 3080 to an RTX 5070, but I'm not sure if it's a smart move. I'm mainly looking for more VRAM and overall better performance without spending too much money. My motherboard is an ASUS Z790M-Plus with PCIe 5.0 support, and I'd like to keep my budget under $1000 USD. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this!

I've been in the same boat with my 3080! Even with selling it off, I don't feel the upgrade hassle or costs are justified for just a bit more performance. The 5070 Ti looks like a solid choice, and if you're open to it, the 9070 XT performs similarly to the Ti for less—might be worth checking out!
Honestly, the RTX 5070 is about 20% faster than the 3080, but it only has 2GB more VRAM. I don't think the upgrade is worth it unless you're looking for something more impactful. If you can stretch your budget, the RTX 5070 Ti is a beast—around 50% faster and has a lot more VRAM. Definitely check out that option!
Wow, 16GB would be incredible! I didn't realize the Ti was so much better.

Good point about the 9070 XT! I might need to look into that as well. Thanks for the suggestion!
