Hey everyone! I'm looking for some feedback regarding job offers I'm considering. I have two offers for Platform Engineer/SRE positions at large companies in London, with a base salary in the £80–90k range and total compensation estimated between £95–100k including bonuses. I'm 24 and I'm curious if this is a solid compensation for my level of experience, or if I should be negotiating for more or exploring other options. Any insights from people in similar roles or the hiring side would be really helpful. Thanks!

I work in DevOps, and I can say £95k is more than enough to be comfortable in London. Just make sure to check if there’s any equity in your package—could sweeten the deal even more!

There’s no equity, just the salary and bonuses, but I'm okay with it for now.

Wow, that's a great salary! I earned £80k as a senior DevOps engineer up north two years ago—not quite that high but definitely decent! You should feel confident about this offer.

If you're being offered £95–100k, that's really good for someone with just a few years of experience. Just make sure the on-call requirements aren't hectic!

Thank goodness there’s no on-call! Sounds like a win.

Sounds solid to me! Most folks would be happy with that kind of package. Just ensure you're comfortable with the company's tech stack and work culture before you dive in.

Absolutely! I'd ask more about the projects you'll be working on to see if they match your interests.

Honestly, at 24 with that offer, just take it and run! Not every day you see someone your age getting those numbers. If you have any doubts, just look at how companies value talent these days—it's pretty wild!

I get that, but I wouldn't underestimate your own worth either! You've got good experience, right?
