I'm planning to build my first PC by the end of January, and I'm considering using Linux as my operating system. I'm specifically interested in how well it runs programs like OBS, Krita, DaVinci Resolve, and Steam. Since I want to avoid spending $139.99 on Windows, I'm hoping to hear from anyone who uses these applications on Linux. I would appreciate honest feedback on their performance and compatibility.

Steam is generally fine on Linux, but just a heads up: some big AAA multiplayer games have issues with anti-cheat systems. You might need something called Proton-GE for some older games to function correctly, but most of your Windows games should work without issues.
I don’t personally use DaVinci Resolve, but I’ve got OBS, Krita, and Steam all running smoothly on Linux. They work flawlessly for me, so I’d definitely say it’s a solid choice!

You’re right, but the explanation could be clearer. Proton-GE helps run some Windows games, not just the older ones with cutscenes. Just be ready to do a bit of tweaking!
