I recently installed Linux Mint XFCE on my Sony VPC-S115FG laptop, which previously had no other operating systems. However, after booting, I see the Linux Mint logo, and then the screen goes black and nothing happens. Is there a way to fix this?

In live mode, my screen stays on and shows the desktop fine, so it seems like something specific to your installation. I'd recommend testing another OS to see if that resolves your issue.
Have you checked if this issue happens while running in live mode? It's also worth trying a different Linux distribution to see if the problem persists. Sometimes, a specific distro can have issues with certain hardware.
