I'm planning to upgrade my GPU and CPU while keeping my current AM4 setup. Here's what I have:
- Motherboard: B450 AORUS ELITE
- 16 GB RAM at 3600 MHz
- MWE Bronze 650 V3 PSU
I'm considering these components:
- Nvidia RTX 5070-Ti
- AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D
I'm looking for excellent performance in 1440p gaming and want to make sure this setup is future-proof. My main concerns are whether my motherboard will bottleneck these upgrades, how well the CPU will perform with the GPU, and if I need to upgrade my PSU. I'm trying to keep costs down since I also plan to buy additional RAM (8x2).

You’re on the right track with the 5070-Ti and 5700X3D! Your B450 motherboard will do just fine for gaming, so no major bottleneck issues to stress over. Keep that PSU, as it's adequate for your new GPU and CPU. Just make sure to monitor your power draws if you're running demanding applications. Your RAM should also complement your build well, especially once you add more.
I have a similar setup and recently upgraded to the Ryzen 7 5700X. After a BIOS update, I added the RTX 5060 Ti, which works great with my PSU.
You might consider either the 5060 Ti or the 5070 with your current CPU for solid 1440p performance. Your motherboard will handle the gaming fine, but for intense tasks requiring max NVME speeds, it could fall a bit short since it supports PCIe Gen3 only. Overall, the GPU performance drop isn't significant, so no need to worry too much about that.
