I'm playing Expedition 33 on my new computer and running into a bit of a performance issue. I'm using an RTX 5070 Ti Shadow paired with a 7800X3D CPU and 32 GB of RAM, but I'm only getting around 55 FPS at maximum settings on 1440p, with some dips down to 40 or even 35 FPS during intense moments. My GPU usage spikes to 99% during those lows, but my CPU and RAM aren't even hitting 50% usage. I've updated my drivers this week, so I'm wondering if this performance is typical or if there's something I might be missing to improve my frame rates.

You might want to check some benchmarks, because typically the RTX 5070 Ti averages around 59 FPS at 1440p on max settings. It sounds like your performance is slightly below what others are reporting. Also, you could try using DLSS at a quality setting to boost your FPS, as the game can be pretty demanding. Make sure you're really running the Ti version by verifying it in GPU-Z, too.
That performance isn't too surprising, honestly. The game has some hefty requirements, and while your GPU is strong, it won't double the performance of a 3070 at 1080p. Plus, being on ultra settings rather than high won't help. If your GPU is at 99% usage, that's typically not a sign of a bottleneck but rather an indication that the game is just heavily optimized to require a lot from the GPU.
That actually gives me some relief knowing it's somewhat normal, haha.
You might want to keep in mind that while the game looks decent, it's very GPU-intensive. Even though characters are detailed, the environments are less so. Using DLSS performance with frame generation on a stronger GPU like the 4070 Ti can yield around 70-100 FPS in 4K, so maybe try those options to help smooth things out!
Hey, I run the same setup as you (7800X3D, RTX 5070 Ti, 32GB RAM) and I'm seeing much better performance at around 100 FPS with DLSS quality enabled. It helps a ton on this title! You should definitely give it a shot if you haven't already. Just remember, enabling DLSS quality is what you need to activate it!
When you say quality, you mean it’s just turned on, right?

I've confirmed it's the Ti version via Device Manager and I even installed the Ti driver. I didn't enable DLSS because I thought the GPU could handle it easily!
