I'm having trouble connecting to WiFi on my PC. I think I have a 'wifi wire' (ethernet cable) connected, but my phone shows there is WiFi available. I'm a bit confused about what's going wrong here. Can anyone help clarify?

You should check if you have a WiFi card installed in your PC. If you do, make sure to update the drivers. If not, using a cat 6 cable might help you get everything updated until you can get a wireless setup.

Good idea! A long Ethernet cable can do wonders for connecting and updating without jumping through wireless hoops.

It’s also worth checking your network settings. Sometimes WiFi can be disabled on your computer, which might explain why you're not seeing available networks. If you have a built-in WiFi antenna and it's not working, that could be a culprit too.

It sounds like there might be some confusion around what 'WiFi' actually means. WiFi is a wireless connection, so if you're using a wired connection, that's an Ethernet cable you have. You might not have a WiFi card in your PC, which would be why you're not connecting wirelessly.

Exactly! If you want to use WiFi, you’ll need a WiFi adapter. Otherwise, your PC is relying on that ethernet connection.
