I received my current computer from my dad, who upgraded about a year ago. It's starting to struggle with games like Minecraft, and I'm worried about future titles running poorly. My components are pretty old, at least 10 years I think. Here's what I have:
* CPU: Intel Core i3-6100
* GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 (2GB)
* HDD: WDC WD10EZEX (932GB)
* RAM: 8GB
I'm not sure if this is all the info needed, but I'd like to know if upgrading a few parts would be sufficient or if I should consider a complete rebuild. Any recommendations would be appreciated!

Honestly, to turn that into a mid-range gaming PC, you'd likely need to replace almost everything. You might get away with reusing the case, but even that isn't guaranteed. At this point, selling your system and either building or buying a new one could be a better route.
That setup is quite outdated. While you can upgrade it somewhat, it'll still probably lag behind in terms of performance. It really comes down to your budget, but you might find it easier to look for a prebuilt system or check out some used PCs for sale locally. They might give you better value for gaming.
Okay thanks for your help.

Fair enough, thank you for the honesty.
