Hey everyone! I'm looking for some help upgrading my PC since I've been experiencing a lot of lag, frame drops, stuttering, and freezing during gaming. It's really annoying! I haven't upgraded any parts since I built this machine back in 2021, so I honestly don't know where to start. Here are my specs:
- OS: Windows 11
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X (8-Core, 3.60GHz, Turbo up to 4.4GHz)
- GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 3060 (12GB, Ray Tracing)
- Motherboard: MSI B450-A Pro MAX (ATX)
- Power Supply: InWin A55 (550W, 80+ Certified)
- HDD: 1TB Seagate BarraCuda SATA-III (7200RPM)
- M.2 SSD: 250GB WD Blue SN550 (NVMe)
- RAM: 16GB DDR4/3200MHz
I could really use some tips on what I should upgrade and how to go about making those upgrades. Thanks in advance for your help!

First off, you'll want to identify what's causing the lag. It could be temperature issues with your GPU or CPU, or maybe your storage is crowding up and affecting performance. Since you have 16GB of RAM, consider checking if that's becoming a bottleneck too. You might want to look up ways to diagnose these problems before jumping into an upgrade.

I've checked the temperatures when gaming and they seem fine. Plus, I’ve got an external SSD that I run most of my games off and it's usually not even half full.
